A comparative explanation document on AGVs and AMRs: "Unmanned Transport Vehicles: Learn from the Basics."

Do you know the difference between AGV and AMR? You can download basic knowledge that you might be hesitant to ask about, including advantages, disadvantages, and how they operate, for free!

Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) are products that significantly contribute to the reduction of manpower and alleviation of burdens in transportation operations. This time, we have prepared a document that clearly summarizes the advantages of two types of unmanned transport vehicles: "guided AGVs" and "autonomous mobile robots (AMRs)." It includes basic information about what AGVs and AMRs are. Please use this document not only to understand the differences between AGVs and AMRs but also for considerations regarding implementation and selecting products suitable for your site. 【What you can learn from this document】 ■ What are AGVs and AMRs ■ Benefits of implementation ■ Mechanism of autonomous driving ■ Features of AGVs and AMRs ■ AMR's ability to navigate around obstacles and avoid congestion ■ Other driving methods *You can currently receive a free gift of a basic learning resource on unmanned transport vehicles! Click "PDF Download" to obtain it.

Autonomous driving AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle)

A new solution for logistics! Autonomous driving type that does not require a magnetic tape guidance system.

At Heads Co., Ltd., we handle "autonomous mobile robots (AGVs)." The high-precision AGV operation using Natural Feature Navigation eliminates the need for magnetic tape guidance, making route changes easy. By creating maps and generating travel routes at customer sites, and linking with operation management systems and warehouse management systems, we achieve efficient AGV dispatching. We offer a rich lineup including the "HRT-S800" with a lifting mechanism, the compact "HRT-S400," and the high-load "HRT-S1000." 【Features】 - By creating maps and generating travel routes at customer sites, and linking with operation management systems and warehouse management systems, we achieve efficient AGV dispatching. - Operates while estimating its own position based on location information obtained from laser sensors and the generated map (under normal conditions). - For precise positioning when needed, a hybrid system that allows the use of magnetic tape in conjunction with equipment is available. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Explanation of the driving method and collaboration of AMR AGVs.

A detailed explanation of the differences between AGV and AMR, which are surprisingly not well known, covering aspects such as driving methods and collaboration!

The biggest difference between AGVs and AMRs is their mode of operation. AGV stands for Automated Guided Vehicle, and as the name "Guided" suggests, it refers to unmanned transport vehicles that determine their route using guiding materials such as magnetic tape. On the other hand, AMR, which stands for Autonomous Mobile Robot, does not require guiding materials. It obtains its position from information provided by sensors and navigates according to its objectives. Our company's 'SiBOT' adopts a SLAM method for self-position estimation using lasers, allowing it to automatically calculate the route to its destination and move autonomously to that destination. Unlike AGVs that follow a guide, AMRs can detect and avoid obstacles while navigating. This means that even if there are people or cargo in the same area, they can reach their destination while avoiding collisions, demonstrating excellent collaboration with humans. *For more details, please download the PDF or contact us by mentioning "Ipros."
